TB-500: What the Research Shows
Research library
TB-500 is widely discussed alongside BPC-157. This guide covers what it is, where it comes from, and what the published research covers.
What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on the active region of thymosin beta-4, a 43 amino acid protein found in almost all human and animal cells. Thymosin beta-4 is the main protein that binds G-actin, the building block of the actin filaments that give cells their shape and let them move. TB-500 is designed around the short actin-binding section of that protein.
What has thymosin beta-4 been studied for?
- Cell migration and wound repair: early studies examined wound closure and the movement of cells into damaged tissue.
- Cardiac research: animal studies looked at heart cell migration and survival after injury.
- Eye and other tissues: further work has explored corneal repair and inflammation.
How strong is the evidence?
Most findings come from cell and animal studies on thymosin beta-4 itself rather than on TB-500 specifically. TB-500 is not approved as a medicine by SAHPRA or other major regulators, and thymosin beta-4 and its derivatives appear on the WADA Prohibited List. It should be treated as an investigational research compound.
TB-500 at Meytrix
Meytrix supplies TB-500 as a 10mg research pen, and with BPC-157 in the Wolverine Stack, GLOW and KLOW. See BPC-157 vs TB-500 for a side-by-side comparison.

Frequently asked questions
What is TB-500 made from?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide modelled on the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring 43 amino acid protein.
Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?
Not exactly. Thymosin beta-4 is the full natural protein; TB-500 is a shorter synthetic peptide based on its active region. Much of the published research is on the full protein.
Is TB-500 approved for human use?
No. TB-500 is not an approved medicine. Meytrix supplies it for laboratory research use only, not for human consumption.
All Meytrix products are supplied for laboratory research use only and are not for human consumption.
